Appearance

Akemi is a pale, thin young woman with dark purple eyes. Her platinum blonde hair is waist-length and tied back into a loose braid. During work, she wears a mostly standard issue Alcyon Corporation uniform (white dress shirt, orange offense division armband, black slacks and loafers), but replaces the tie with an orange ribbon. She also wears a black cape coat with a darker orange inner lining.

Personality

Akemi is a very talented and proficient demon slayer. She was promoted to twilight rank in a mere year and two months, just slightly behind Ichika's record, and is one of the rare people with the memorization and technical skills to specialize in mist-casting. Due to this, she thinks extremely highly of herself, often coming off as self-centered or childish. She doesn't respect authority, and rarely obeys orders unless she agrees with them. She also finds complicated plans to be annoying and tedious, preferring to jump right into situations, confident that she will be able to handle them. This character trait often brings her into conflict with her teammate Shuhei, and the two of them spend much of their time bickering or trying to convince Clover to take their side.

However, she is also shown to be a principled person who can be caring and helpful. She joined Alcyon Corporation out of a genuine desire to help people. Though she may complain about them outside of battle, she makes every effort to cooperate with and protect her teammates during actual missions.

She has a particular interest in fashion and personal beauty. Her hair and eyes have both been biomodded away from their natural color, and she spends a lot of money on custom-made clothing. She shows an interest in dressing her teammates up as well, though Shuhei rarely allows this.

Powers & Abilities

Mist-Casting Master: Akemi excels at mist-casting. She is able to cast multiple high-level spells without sigils, and even demonstrates the ability to combine multiple spells into one to cause unique effects. She is currently studying the creation of new spells, a skill that is said to be extremely difficult even for those who specialize in casting.

High Mist Capacity: Akemi's ability to cast many high-level spells during a single fight demonstrates her large mist reserves. Her aura is violet.

Mare

Broomfish, nicknamed Rizu by Akemi, is a familiar-type mare. She takes the form of a creature somewhat resembling a pipefish, approximately as long as Akemi is tall. Her long thin body and large rounded caudal fin give the impression of a witch's broom, thus the mare's name. Akemi can summon and de-summon her at will.

Rizu speaks in a cheerful and cutesy manner, and seems to be fanatically devoted to Akemi; when summoned, she obeys Akemi's commands without question, or simply hovers behind her and agrees with whatever she says when not given any commands. However, the two occasionally get into arguments over what spells to use, or Shuhei Samejima (who Rizu seems to have a more favorable opinion of).

Rizu's primary function is as transport. She can float through the air at very high speeds and comfortably bear Akemi's weight while doing so. Akemi can also send her to fetch items or convey information to others. She is weak in direct combat and has little to no attack capabilities (though she can be re-summoned after a few hours if she is destroyed).

Additionally, the two of them have discovered through experimentation that Rizu serves as an extension of Akemi's body for the purposes of mist-casting. Sigils and names formed by either of them can be used by the other to cast a spell. This allows Akemi to cast spells that would normally require three or more hands, or surprise the opponent by obscuring her sigils / casting from a different location than expected.
