Offense Division

The Offense Division is a division of Alcyon Corporation, responsible for slaying demons.

Duties

Offense Division agents are tasked with eliminating potentially dangerous demons in oneirosea. They use the company's proprietary moon pools to physically enter oneirosea, navigate toward the mission objective with mist-sense, and engage the demons in combat. Aside from extermination missions, they are also responsible for patrolling areas of oneirosea that correspond to population centers, since these are the places where most possessions occur, and fend off aggressive demons when necessary.

Culture

Employees with unpredictable or difficult-to-control powers are often shuffled into this division, as this keeps their collateral damage inside oneirosea. As a result, Offense Division agents are stereotyped as brutes who cut down demons with no thought for finesse, but this is not always true. Many members have a fairly relaxed attitude toward rules, compared to those of other divisions; they prioritize getting the job done over doing it in the proper ways.

Many Offense members at the Semikawa branch like to hang out on the roof of the Alcyon Corporation HQ building after work. This is technically prohibited, as the helipad there should be kept clear, but the company rarely enforces the rule. Assorted chairs, tables, and a barbecue grill have all been stashed on the roof for these events.

The Offense and Defense Divisions are rivals, since both are combat divisions but with different priorities; many Offense members see Defense members as wannabe celebrities who are too obsessed with PR to fight properly. Alcyon Corporation sometimes holds televised combat tournaments for publicity, and these members see the them as an opportunity to show up the other division.
