Jack Fisher (ジャック・フィシャー, Jakku Fishaa) is an American employee of Labyrinth, working as an oneiric researcher with a specialization in Astral Projection.

Appearance

Jack is a man of average height with dark skin. His hair is styled into thick neck-length locs, dark brown with the tips dyed yellow. Two small tufts of hair near the top of his head resemble floppy ears.

Unusually for a high-profile Labyrinth employee, he does not have any visible cybernetic augmentations. He wears the Labyrinth coat open at the front; underneath is a sleeveless green hoodie, darker green pants, and black sneakers.

Personality

Jack is an easygoing person with a casual and lighthearted manner. He likes to give and use nicknames, referring to his partner Andrea Rose as "Andy" despite her protests. Due to this, he makes friends easily, with people both younger and older than him. However, the same traits can make him come off as overly familiar or even insensitive at times. In particular, he has a hard time understanding Andrea's troubles because his own natural mare is much less difficult to deal with, causing a rift between the two.

He is very talented in a variety of fields, including oneiric research and mist-boosting. However, he is also somewhat lazy, and doesn't like putting the effort into learning new things if he isn't instantly good at them. He has joked about his position at Labyrinth being his dream job, since he can do some of it while asleep.

He is a fan of superhero media, often being seen reading comic books or watching movies. He was enthusiastic about being assigned to the Japan branch because he loves tokusatsu shows, and had already learned some Japanese in order to watch more of them. He sees his work at Labyrinth almost like a real-life superhero show, and genuinely believes he is helping people.

Powers & Abilities

Astral Projection: Jack is stated to be a natural-born genius at astral projection, having figured out how to do it by looking up videos on the internet without any specialized training. He has good control over his spirit form and can manipulate its shape freely, though he prefers a "simplified" look most of the time out of laziness.

High Mist Capacity: As a natural mare user, Jack has a large supply of mist and is naturally adept at defensive mist-boosting. His aura is green.

Mare

Acceleration is a manipulation-type mare. At will, Jack can instantly accelerate to supersonic speeds, or decelerate back to his former speed, without suffering any of the consequences that would normally be associated with extreme acceleration. He can apply this ability to his entire body or only certain parts of it.

As a natural mare, Acceleration comes with a significant drawback: it doesn't improve Jack's reaction time to the point where he can mentally keep up with these speeds. As such, it is practically impossible to use for long-distance movement, as the chance he'll stumble or crash into something is almost certain. It also seems to place a great strain on his body when used repeatedly, but this can be somewhat alleviated with mist-boosting training.

With these drawbacks in mind, Jack mostly uses it in short bursts of less than a second. When applied to his whole body, he can move fast enough that he seems to teleport, dodging enemy attacks or repositioning himself in a blink of an eye. When applied to just an arm or leg, he can deliver devastating physical blows that leave shockwaves in their wake.

Since he can fly while astral projecting, it is much easier for him to use this ability to travel in oneirosea.
